Sorry I know this is a day late but I was exhausted yesterday and could not lift a finger, let alone a glass of wine.  But I promise you, you wouldn’t be missing much with this week’s wine.  It was a decent wine for the price but definitely not the most spectacular bottle I’ve had. I have to admit I was about as disappointed as a kid who just found out that there is no Santa. I suppose I’ve been spoiled the past Wednesday’s; every bottle I tried on a whim I have loved.  I picked this wine at random too, the name “Smoking Loon” reminded me of my mom’s maiden name, Lunetta, but this time I lost the game of Russian Roulette.   As Forest Gump says, “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” The flavor of the wine was there, but it tasted like it was watered down.  You could tell it wanted to come out but it just wasn’t strong enough. It was kind of the understudy of a play; good but just not a star. I suppose it would be a good bottle for people who don’t like overly strong wines; but for those of us who like a wine with a little sass it was just ok.  The flavors I did pick up on were melon, apple and hibiscus flower. This is definitely a bottle of wine on a diet; very light bodied and subtle.  So if you like your wines full and robust I would suggest putting this one back on the shelf.

Keep you wallets full and your mouths happy!
