This week brings two firsts;  what can I say I was feeling adventurous this week.  One this is my first post since moving my blog, and two I’m reviewing a Red Wine GASP.  Close your mouths people it’s not that shocking. I don’t hate red wine, I’m just more of a white kind of girl.  This week I decided to go over to the dark side, even red needs a little loving every once in a while.   I know you’re thinking, what’s next is she going to go skydiving? Well first been there done that, and second this bold endeavor was carefully planned.  The wine, 90+ French Fusion, was a recommendation from my mother and while I usually don’t do anything my mom says is cool, I decided to give this one a try.  After all, the woman has pretty good taste; for wine at least.  Nonetheless, I was expecting to react like a kid who just found out there’s no Santa when I took my first sip; somewhere between immense disappointment and disgust.  I was instead met with a rather pleasant bouquet of rich flavors.  At first you’re hit with a rich grape flavor that starts out sweet then turns slightly sour, it’s like and grape juice with ‘roid rage.   Right when it starts to turn tangy, in comes this slightly smoky flavor; which I’m assuming comes from the oak barrel.  Like Underdog it comes to save the day, providing a complement to the acidity that makes it taste velvety smooth and fill your mouth with a truly unique taste.  It also has surprise guests appearances from blackberry, chocolate and making its wine debut, black pepper.  As a whole the wine is very earthy, but not the kind of earthy that taste like your licking dirt.  I mean a very rich and bold well rounded combination of harmonious elements.   I hate to say it, but it has made me a believer.

Keep your wallets full and your mouth happy
